Howard Pipes

Herbert “Howard” Pipes, 87, of Nashville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, in the presence of his family.

Howard was born on January 22, 1936, in Houston, TX, to Herbert Haywood Pipes and Evelyn Spillers Pipes.

He served in the US Army with the Construction and Combat Engineers from 1954 to 1957.

In 1960, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Homebuilding, at Trinity University, in San Antonio, Texas, and had a successful career in homebuilding materials sales.

He was a 55-year Master Mason, Shriner and 32° Scottish Rite Mason.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and Mary Jo Settles Pipes, his wife of 50 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Steve, daughter in law, Deborah, grandson, Henry, in Nashville, and brother, Ralph, of San Antonio, Texas.

There will be a graveside gathering of family and friends at 11:00am, Tuesday, May 9, 2023, in the Garden of the Cross, at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens – Funeral Home, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alive Hospice, American Red Cross, or The Shriner’s Hospital.
