Howard Ray Strickland age 82 passed away on August 14,2021 after a battle with cancer. Ray founded the Nashville Tomato Company with his wife Helen and their son Greg. He also co-owned Tennessee Valley Tomato Company with his brother. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved traveling and especially cruising with his wife Helen. Ray was an avid fisherman and boatsman.
He is preceded in death by his son Steven Strickland, sisters Wanda Wood, Carol Burns, Brenda Tipton, Shirley Acuff, Connie Strickland, brothers Arnold, Charles, and Bobby.
Ray is survived by his wife Helen Tidwell Strickland, son Greg aka “Mike” (Carole) Strickland, sisters Phyllis Burnes, Linda Knight, brothers Jimmy Strickland, Don (Joyce) Strickland, grandchildren Chonta (Bobby)Dillingham, Steven (Rebecca) Strickland, Cassi (Jason) Webster, Kati (Vic) Moore, Kelli (Jason) DeVol, Michael (Cearra) Strickland and 13 very much-loved great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday 18,2021 at 1pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with visitation the night prior from 4-8 pm and Wednesday 11-1pm.
