Ida May Ingram, affectionately known as GraGra, passed away at the age of 80 on September 30, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born on August 13, 1944, in Trezevant, TN.
Ida May is preceded in death by her daughter Frankie Lynn Ingram; sister Dorothy "Dot" Lowe; brothers Bobby Lowe, Wayne Lowe, Tommy Lowe, Joe Lowe; parents Arthur and Ruby Lowe.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Ingram; children, Chad Ingram, Jason (Michelle) Ingram, Lisa (Tony) Watson; grandchildren Amanda Ann (Jorge) Rodriguez, Austin Thomas Watson, Frankie Lynn Ingram, Jack Thomas Ingram; great grandson Banks Miguel Rodriguez, as well as numerous friends and loved ones.
Ida May was a devoted wife to her loving husband Jerry for 60 years. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love, marked by shared laughter, support, and countless cherished memories. Together, they created a nurturing home that became a gathering place for family and friends alike.
An extraordinary matriarch, Ida May’s heart beat strongest for her family, especially her precious grandchildren and great-grandchild. She filled their lives with love and laughter, always ready with a home cooked meal, encouragement and a warm embrace. Her legacy will forever live on through them, as they carry the values and love she instilled in them.
Ida May found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She adored listening to George Strait and was a talented cook. The art of canning vegetables was another passion of hers, reflecting her dedication to enjoying the fruits of her labor and sharing them with those she loved.
Ida May also enjoyed playing Mexican Train with friends, the clatter of dominoes echoing with laughter and friendly competition. Her adventures often took her to West Tennessee to visit with her family and to the Amish community in Kentucky, where she found inspiration and joy in their craftsmanship and way of life.
As we remember Ida May, let us cherish the countless memories of laughter and love she gave so freely. Her spirit and affection will forever illuminate the lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 9:30am ~ 11:30am with a Celebration of Life at 11:30am and the burial to immediately follow at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
