Ima Katherine Franklin Langford, age 86, of Brentwood, Tennessee passed away on April 21, 2024. She was born on October 14, 1937, to the late Harvey Bailey Franklin, Sr. and Ima Lillian Franklin in Nashville, Tennessee.
Ima graduated from Central High School of Nashville, Tennessee and continued her education at Middle Tennessee State University where she was a cheerleader. She married the love of her life, Jack, on July 27, 1957. Ima was faithful member of Forest Hills Baptist Church and then First Baptist Church Gallatin. She loved serving in Middle Tennessee Tres Dias & Music City Tres Dias. Ima loved riding quarter horses, working in her yard, growing a garden, and cooking. Ima devoted her life to loving on friends, family, and others.
Ima is preceded in death by her husband of over 66 years, Jack L Langford, her parents listed above; her stepmother, Willie Franklin; brother, Harvey Bailey Franklin, Jr.; and sisters, India Franklin Bell, and Betty Franklin Rorie.
She is survived by her son, Brad L. Langford (Angie), and daughter, Bonnie Wheatcraft (Steve). Ima also leaves behind her grandchildren, Justin Wheatcraft (Katie), Ty Wheatcraft, Ashlea Tinnon (Garrett), Ashley Langford, Sarah Langford, Ryan Langford (Faith), Caleb Langford, Ali Stephens (Chris), and Molly Kitchens (Reed); and great-grandchildren, Addilyn Langford, Avery Wheatcraft, Olivia Wheatcraft, Everly Oberholster, and Banks Kitchens.
A visitation will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 11:30am until the time of service. The funeral service will begin at 1:30pm with Dr. Jerry Winfield officiating and burial to follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Accent Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
