Imelda "Jo" Rottero Everhart

July 10, 1926 — June 28, 2023

Nashville, TN

 

Jo graduated from Cathedral High School in 1944.  She was in the choir all 4 years, class president for 3 years and treasurer for 1 year.  She received a scholarship to Our Lady of Cincinnati but decided to attend Andrew Jackson Business College where she received her BSS degree.

She worked for Liddon Pontiac which later became Beaman Pontiac where she worked until she retired.

She and her sister, Rita Claire, joined the USO and the Civil Air Patrol.  They attended many dances and functions held for the servicemen at Ft. Campbell.

She met Calvin Everhart on a blind date in 1950.  They were married in January,  1951.

You could always find her in her yard and garden – her happy place.  She enjoyed traveling, cruising or just reading on the beach.  She always looked forward to her Wine Wednesday group, bingo and picnics at church.

She was preceded in death by her husband. Calvin, her mother, Clara, her father, Louis,  brothers, Jr and Gene, her sister,  Rita Claire.

Jo is survived by her two daughters,  Karen Brown and Gina Hurt.  Ricky was her first born, deceased September,  1965. 

Survived by her sisters, Constance Daugherty and Celeste Norman.

She was loved by her granddaughters,  Jessica Johnson,  Tori Bagsby,and Shera Slaughter, multiple great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday July 15, 2023 at The Pavilion at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Hwy 100 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
