Irene Hendrickson Maynard, 93, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2018 in Spring Hill, TN. A native of Nashville and a graduate of Bellevue High School, she had been a faithful Christian housewife and mother for many years before becoming a hospital and private-duty nurse. She was a member of the Charlotte Avenue and Bellevue (twice) and Five Points churches of Christ, where she enjoyed many friendships, taught children's classes, and served the LORD and others in numerous ways. For a time, she enjoyed being a frequent volunteer at The Meadows nursing home, and a regular Super Senior Silver Sneaker bus transportation group member at the Bellevue YMCA.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward and Mable Hendrickson; sister, Dorothy Gaddes; her husband of 49 years, Homer Maynard; granddaughter, Rachel Perry; and son-in-law, Jim Perry.

She is survived by her 3 children: Beverly Perry, Steve (Robin) Maynard, and Peggy (David) Aston; and 9 grandchildren: Stephanie (Rich) Yaras, Melissa Steinhart, Matt (Angie) Maynard, Jason (Heather) Aston, Nick (Hilarie) Maynard, Jon (Jill) Aston, Holly (Bert) Hudson, Kate (Tyler) Shadix, and Kelly (Luke) Miller. She is also survived by 32 great-grandchildren, nephew Paul Gaddes, niece Katie Espeseth, a number of Hendrickson cousins, and 3 Maynard sisters-in-law.

Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. with minister Daniel Palk and several family members conducting.

Visitations will also be held at the funeral home one hour before the funeral, and on Saturday from 3:00 - 5:00.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Healing Hands International, Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort, or Avalon Hospice. The family expresses gratitude to the staff at Traditions Assisted Living in Spring Hill and Avalon Hospice for their devoted care.
