Retired Nashville Attorney, Jack J. Green, Jr., age 96, passed away November 8, 2016 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin.

Jack was born December 24, 1919 in Nashville and was the oldest child of Jesse Jack Green, Sr and Maude Elizabeth Bumpus Green.

He enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces in September 1942. During his duty he served in Africa and Northern France, as well as stateside. He was additionally honored with three Bronze Service Stars.

Following World War II, Jack studied to become a lawyer, passing the bar in 1950. He was an active and well respected attorney in Nashville from 1950 until his retirement in 2000 at the age of 80.

Jack was a published author having written "The Trust Account" and "The Zoo Keeper." At the time of his passing, Jack had four additional manuscripts awaiting publication.

He is survived by three sons: Jesse Jack (Catherine H.) Green, III of Nashville, James Joseph "Jake" Green of Palm Springs, CA and Robert E. "Bobby" (Tonya) Green of Franklin; two siblings: Dorothy Poitevint and Robert "Bobby" Green; 9 grandchildren: Jesse Jacob (Kristy) Green, Timothy Eric Grubbs, Robert Madison Green, Tori Catherine Green, Chai Weston (Shelby) Green, Daphne Paige (Kimberly) Green, Robin Abigail (Nick) Waugh, Tristan Poet Green and Chava Ruth Green; and 4 great-grandchildren: Ephrem Robert Green, Jonah Nicholas Waugh, William Poet Waugh and Zeke Xavier Green. At the time of his passing, Jack was looking forward to the arrival of his first great-granddaughter: Alara Evelyn Green, due in mid-December.

Jack's family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, November 13 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 510 W. Main St, Franklin. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Sunday at the church. Burial, with military honors, will be conducted at 9:00 a.m. at Middle Tennessee State Veteran Cemetery on Monday, November 14, 2016.
