Son of Carsie & Mattie Langford, brother to Melinda June Lee & Bonnie Ann Langford, survived by his wife Ima of 63 years; son, Brad L Langford (Angie), daughter, Bonnie Wheatcraft (Steve); grandchildren, Justin Wheatcraft (Katie), Tyler Wheatcraft (Elizabeth), Ashlea Wheatcraft, Ashley, Sarah, Ryan and Caleb Langford, Ali Ryan, Molly Kitchens (Reed); great grandchildren, Avery & Olivia Wheatcraft, Addilyn Langford & Everly Oberholster.
Jack graduated from Gallatin High School in 1950, attended Castle Height Military Academy before accepting a football scholarship to the University of Wyoming at Laramie and was inducted into the Wyoming Football Hall of Fame. He married the love of his life, Ima Katherine Franklin on July 27, 1957.
After graduating Wyoming, Jack completed his tenure in the US Army leaving as a Captain. He entered civilian work with The Travelers Insurance Company. In 1972 he started Jack L Langford & Associates, an insurance brokerage agency specializing in employee benefits to small employers. In his career he earned Life & Qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table, served on the local Life Underwriters Association Board of Directors and spoke to numerous industry groups.
Jack was a faithful member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Nashville Tennessee where he taught an adult Sunday School class for over 30 years. He served as a deacon and on many committees. He also served on the Nashville Fellowship of Christian Athletes Board of Directors for many years. Jack served in Tres Dias Communities in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama & Georgia. He gave of his time, his talents, and his treasures freely and without reservation.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 20, 2021, 10:00 - 12:00, with a Funeral Service beginning at 12:00; all at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to any of the following: Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Adoration Hospice, or the Alzheimer's Association.
Words cannot express the gratitude of the family for your thoughts & prayers. Jack left an indelible impact on the lives of everyone that knew him, we have lost much but Heaven is better with him in it.
