Jack Myers
Born in Logan West Virginia on 3/28/1937.
Jack was raised in Charleston, WV after his parents moved there in 1943. He was an avid sportsman and a gifted athlete. Jack played football and was on the track team at Charleston High School.
He joined the USMC in 1956 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California, as well as Adak Alaska, the southernmost part of the Aleutian Islands. While there he served as a Military Policeman. Jack completed his military duty in July 1959.
His return to civilian life took him to Detroit, Michigan where he met his wife to be, Juanita. He worked as a millwright in the automobile industry. Jack was a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge.
Jack retired in 1997 and he and Juanita purchased a 27 acre property in Bon Aqua, Tennessee. They built their beautiful log home overlooking a majestic meadow and stream where they raised cattle and other small animals. This was a dream come true for both of them. They have been married more than fifty-five wonderful years.
Jack is preceded in passing by his mother, Wanda and father Frank; brothers, William and Frank Jr.; sisters, Connie and Wanda. He is survived by his wife, Juanita; stepson, William King; daughter-in-law, Onakaye, and many grandchildren; brothers, James and Jerry; sisters Margaret, Nancy, and Linda.
Jack will be missed by all of us. He is from West Virginia, Almost Heaven, and now he is in the true Heaven. May he Rest in Peace.
A Life Celebration will be 11:30am, Saturday, March 31st. Burial to follow with Military Honors at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00pm-8:00pm, Friday and 10:30am-11:30am, Saturday at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN, 37221, 615-646-9292, harpethhills.com
