Jacquelyn McCormack "Jackie" Hill, age 72 of Nashville, passed away on September 21, 2016.

Jackie was born April 11, 1944 in Memphis and was the fifth of ten children born to Harold and Emma McPherson McCormack.

Jackie and Van's marriage was blessed with three daughters, and today includes sons-in-law and five grandchildren.

When talking about Jackie's life, one word is continually repeated...LOVE. Jackie not only loved life, she loved the people around her throughout life. Her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, friends, neighbors and even friends of friends.

Jackie was funny and kind, and simply gave more than she received. While living in Puerto Rico, she and Van had a donut shop where she gave local children more donuts than they sold. Although not a successful business model by any account, it represented the lifestyle Jackie preferred. In real estate, she often gave up her commission dollars to assist buyers with closing costs.

Advice was also freely provided. When her grandchildren wanted something, either from her or from their parents, they could go through Jackie first, knowing she would provide or convince others to do so.

Her love of people was seen in all areas of her life. During health concerns she would be admitted to St. Thomas. Because the staff thought so much of her, she could often request a certain suite or area, and was normally provided the location of choice.

Jackie was able to communicate her wants and desires through love, or whatever means necessary, but you always knew she made requests from the point of her simple and good heart. When she demanded, it was often to benefit someone else.

Friends of Jackie's daughters would always prefer to hang out at her home. She was the "cool mom" who allowed them to feel safe, but also simply be kids.

When she did take time for herself, she loved to take extended naps and was a voracious reader. She had difficulties with Facebook in the early days, "liking" so many things that the company locked her account, thinking it was not a real person. She simply liked the world around her.

As her health deteriorated, Jackie spent more time watching television, especially "Law & Order" on any channel that aired it.

Jackie will be missed by anyone who ever met her. She had a passion for life and shared that joy with those around her. She is mourned by her husband: Van E. Hill; daughters: Sharon (Bobby) Little, Heather (Paul) Green and Kirby (Brian) Beasley; siblings: Joyce Vezina, Sharon Greenwood, Joe McCormack, Tony McCormack, Randolph McCormack and Tim McCormack; and her five precious grandchildren: Sydney, Aaron, Jackie, Kaitlyn and Cameron.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, September 24 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 PM.

A Requiem Eucharist will be held on Friday September 30 at 1:00 p.m. in Memphis at the Church of the Holy Communion, 4645 Walnut Grove Road. Immediately after the service Jackie's ashes will be interred in the columbarium in the churchyard. The Rev. Sandy Webb, rector, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis, 535 Alabama Ave, Memphis, TN 38105
