Jacqueline “Jackie” Sue Barnette passed away December 27, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Jackie was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 9, 1943. She is preceded by her parents Betty and Herschel Madden and sister Marcella Jean Smithy.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years William Harold Barnette, her daughters Tina Hamor (Bob), Diana Woody (Jeff), Billie Barnette, and Kathy Barnette, grandchildren Jessica Heath (Dan) and Sarah Johnson, great grandchildren Hannah Heath, Hudson Heath, Harris Johnson and Henley Johnson, siblings Tommy Madden (Mary), Whit Madden, Darlene Powers, and Pat Madden (Donna), as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Jackie and Harold married in Indiana in 1961, they later moved to Nashville with their 4 daughters, settling after that in Foley, Alabama. Jackie was a devoted mother and wife serving as a Brownie leader and softball coach for her daughters when they were young. As a young mother she enjoyed sewing and it showed with their beloved matching Christmas dresses. She will be remembered for her wit and how much she loved to laugh. Jackie loved bowling until she learned to play golf. She could be found at the golf course most days and at one point was the Club Champion at Harpeth Hills golf course and served as the ladies league's President. She was loved by her family, and was the love of Harold's life.
Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday January 4, 2023 from 10:30 am until service time at 11:30 am at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at 12:30 pm at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens 9090 Hwy 100 Nashville, Tennessee 37221
