James Edward Bryant, age 88 of Fairview, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson.
Mr. Bryant was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN and was the son of the late William David Bryant and Effie Irene Escue Bryant. He was a carpenter by trade and a Mason. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by seven siblings: William Alexander Bryant, Crockett Eugene Bryant, Mary Ella Bryant Clark, Opal Irene Bryant Cole, Virgil Giles Bryant, Pauline Dolores Bryant Blasigim and Margaret Ann Bryant Martin.
He will be remembered as a gentleman who cared for others before himself. He was honest and respectful as well. Mr. Bryant enjoyed gardening, splitting wood, fishing and any event that would get him outside, especially his annual bluegrass parties. Although he had no children of his own, he made those around him feel like family, and treated them that way.
He is survived by a brother: Claude Melvin Bryant; grandson: Stephen Kisac; great-grandsons: Alex Kisac, Michael Kisac and Tristan Parrish; and great-great-grandsons: Raiden Kisac and Braxton Kisac. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 15 from 2:00 until 7:00 PM at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted Wednesday, November 16 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Burial, with military honors, will be in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
