James Vincent Gibbons, born on November 7, 1938 in Buffalo, NY, passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was the devoted husband of Carol Gibbons for over 60 wonderful years, a testament to their unwavering bond and deep affection for one another.

James, known affectionately as "Jim," was a man of many passions. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spending a sunny afternoon on the golf course, meticulously mowing his lawn, savoring a fine cigar, or cheering for his beloved Notre Dame football team. His enthusiasm for life was contagious, and he brought a vibrant energy to every gathering.

As a father, papa, and recently a great papa, Jim was a pillar of strength and support for his family. His glass-half-full attitude and sense of humor filled every room with warmth and joy. He had an incredible ability to make those around him laugh, and his spirit will forever echo in the hearts of his loved ones.

After graduating from Annunciation High School, Jim dedicated over 42 years to a successful career in banking, continuing his education with the American Banking Institute, culminating in his role as Senior Vice President at Regions Bank. During those years, Jim mentored many individuals, he loved motivating his team and bringing a fresh perspective. His professionalism and commitment to excellence were evident in all he did.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his daughters; Pam Kornman (David), Jennifer Uptain (Ed), Jaime Gibbons (Jonathan Morris), grandchildren; Justin Uptain, Joshua Uptain, Hailey Guimaraes (Tulio), Darby Kornman (Austin Rexroat), Greyson Gibbons; and great-grandchild Callie Sofia Guimaraes, sisters; Mary Kolnacki (Jerry), Evelyn Gibbons, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored beyond measure. Jim’s legacy of love, laughter, and positivity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
