James Norman Holcombe Sr., 81, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Norm is preceded in death by his father, James A. Holcombe; his mother, Margaret C. Holcombe; and his daughter, Kimberly Dawn Holcombe. He is survived by his wife, Dionne; his son, James N. Holcombe Jr. (Liz); his sister, Anne Vaughn (Rev. Bert Vaughn); his grandchildren, Cameron Rose and Bruce Isaac; and his nephews, Jesse Vaughn (Christy, Sarah Beth, Hudson) and Jonathan Vaughn.
Norm was a member of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) and was a certified information management specialist for many years. He worked for several outstanding companies, including the Hospital Corporation of America, from which he retired. He held great respect and appreciation for all of his managers and coworkers, many of whom remained lifelong friends.
His church service was a significant part of his life. Norm loved the Lord and his church family. He served as the Sunday school Director and deacon, and he was always willing to accept any position he was asked to fill.
Norm honorably served our country as a Combat Engineer in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
As a University of Tennessee graduate, he was a passionate supporter of Volunteer football and basketball.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, and a devoted grandfather to his cherished grandchildren.
