James Herman McMahan of Cheney, Kansas, passed from this life April 16, 2018, in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 88. Before moving back to Cheney, he was a very active member of the
First Baptist Church in Sedan, Kansas.

Jim was born April 28, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan to the late James Hoyt and lcye (Hilburn) McMahan Jeffrey. As a young man Jim developed a great love for livestock and the outdoors. He especially loved horses and it was a rare occasion when he was without a good horse to ride. He broke his last colt when he was 80 years young.
He is survived by 2 sons and their wives, Steve and Roslyn, Mark and Sally, and a daughter in law, Judy, six grandchildren, Chris, Jon, Brooke, Kerri, Aaron Seiler, and Ann Marie Seiler, two brothers, Duane and Joe Jeffrey, and two sisters, Laverne Smith and Bernice Kaiser, numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Kathryn E. McMahan, sons James Hoyt McMahan, David Keith McMahan, a brother Harold McMahan and his parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11am at the Center Point Baptist Church in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in the church cemetery in the family plot. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9 am until the hour of the service.

In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Cheney United Methodist Church 406 3rd Ave., Cheney, KS 67025, in Mr. McMahan's memory.
