Jesse James (Soap) Edwards age 92, of the Pinewood Community in Franklin, TN. passed September 7, 2023.
James or as many knew him Soap, was born in Williamson County, TN. to the late William Jesse Calvin (Callie) Edwards and Mary Ella Lou Southern Edwards Stinson on April 9, 1931.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life Doris Christine Martin Edwards, grandson, Joshua Michael (Josh) Edwards, and siblings, Thomas Edwards, J. W. Edwards, Robert Nathan Edwards and infant child of 1925.
James owned and operated Edwards Oil Company on West Main St. in Franklin, TN. until the gas shortage in 1974. He then began a career with the City of Franklin, in the water department. He retired after 21 years in 1995.
He loved the Lord, his family, friends and music. He was a bass player in a popular blue grass band the Pinewood Ramblers, who preformed over 500 benefit shows for the community over the decades of their musical career. After the loss the love of his life, he enjoyed the fellowship of all his friends. He always made time to have coffee or a meal with his friends, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by his son, James Michael (Mike) and wife, Melanie Edwards, grandson, James Malcolm (Jamie)
Edwards, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the Edwards family will begin on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 10:30 am until service time at 1:30 pm. All services to be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy, 100, Nashville, TN. 37221.
