Age 91, of Nashville, passed away May 4, 2019.
A loving husband and father who had great compassion for all and served selflessly. James retired from the United States Army and The Department of Labor.
Preceded in death by his brother, Charles Alan Spain. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Elisabeth Anna Spain; children, Sue Goodrich (David), James D. Spain (Claire D.) and Sarah Spain Bevill (Darren); grandchildren, Timothy Goodrich (Katie), Jacob E. Spain, Lucas Bevill, Daniel Goodrich and Emeline Bevill; great-grandchild, Finn D. Spain; many extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
Visitation will be 9:30am-10:30am, Friday, May 10th at The Pavilion at Harpeth Hills with burial to follow at 11:00am at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
