James Robert Tully Jr. died peacefully on November 26, 2024, at age 84.
He was a resident at the Lodge at Natchez Trace in Nashville. Born in Dayton, KY in the shadow of Cincinnati's riverfront on October 4, 1940, Jim was raised in a military family living in Kentucky, Occupied Japan, Virginia, and graduated from Fayetteville High School in NC. He would enlist in the Army and ultimately attend the United States Military Academy.
In 1969, Jim moved to Nashville, where he embarked on a successful career in restaurant franchising with Kentucky Fried Chicken. He became a member of First Lutheran Church and led an active lifestyle, enjoying swimming and running.
Jim was known for his vibrant personality that made him the life of any party, particularly poolside. A lifelong supporter of Army football and Cincinnati Reds, Jim's bold and persuasive nature left a lasting impression on those around him.
He is survived by his wife (Rhonda Tully) and four children Jimbo Tully (Becky), Tish Anderson (Jeff), Sukey Johnson (Kenneth), John Tully (Carleigh); 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service only will be at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in Nashville on December 6, 2024, at 11:00 with military honors. In lieu of flowers, please honor Jim by making a donation to West Point: https://www.westpointaog.org/giving/why-give/
