Janet Lee Bates-Age 63, December 6, 2016.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard F. and Jane S. Hill.

Survived by her husband, Vernon Bates and by her sister, Joal Hill of Chicago.

She was a lifelong resident of Bellevue, TN. She graduated from Bellevue High School and went on to earn a Master's degree in Library Science. She graduated from Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent for the people who suffered losses from the fires in Sevier County, TN.
