Janey M. Tiesler, affectionately known as “Oma” by her family, was born in Alpharetta, Georgia on July 19th, 1942, and passed away on July 2nd, 2024, at the age of 81. Janey was a resident of Kingston Springs, Tennessee, where she resided with her husband, Tom Tiesler, of 27 years.
Janey is preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Joann Tiesler and stepson, Barry Blackburn.
Janey is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Tom Tiesler; sons Steve (Janie) Martin, Cayce (Beth) Tiesler, Jake (Naomi) Tiesler, and Daniel (Julianna) Tiesler; grandchildren, Colin, Chloe, Patrick, Kyle, Michael, William, Brooks, and Colton; stepdaughter, Rebecca Blackburn; and step grandchildren, David, Alex, and Phoebe.
Janey attended Socastee High School in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Her green thumb was evident with her love of flowers and working in her garden.
Beyond her gardening talents, Janey was a pillar of strength in her church, Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her generosity knew no bounds as she provided for fellow members with unwavering compassion. She was a proud member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Janey was the director of administration when she retired from the department of environment and conservation after 25 years of service with the state of Tennessee.
One of Janey’s greatest joys in life was her grandkids. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her love for her family knew no bounds. She loved to travel and make memories with her family while traveling somewhere new.
