Janis P. Collins of Nashville Tennessee was received by God the Son on February 1, 2016 after a 3 year battle with 2 types of cancer.

Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Nathaniel Albert Parker and Mrs. Margaret May Parker; is survived by her husband of 46 years, Mr. Russell "Rip" Collins; daughters, Stephanie Brown (Charlie) and Stacy Collins; brothers, Richard Parker (Ann) and David Parker (Judy).

Janis was a graduate of the Mt. Vernon Township High School (Mt. Vernon, IL) and the University of Mississippi. She was a devoted mother who chose to not work until her daughters entered college. She worked part time for GAP for 20 years, which she thoroughly enjoyed,

Mrs. Collins was a member of the Belle Meade United Methodist Church and the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority where she was a Junior Panhellenic Representative.

Visitation for Janis will be Wednesday, February 3, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home; again Thursday 9:30 - 11:00 AM at Belle Meade United Methodist Church; a Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00 AM.
