Ms. Jann Murray Harrison age 70, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on October 18, 2022, with her daughters by her side.
Jann was born on June 14, 1952, to the late Theodore Jay Murray and Jackie Bean Murray. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Harrison Jackson. Jann Harrison was an accomplished artist with deep southern roots who achieved international acclaim for the Perils of Francois collection. She painted in a pop humorist style with a bold and bawdy brand of humor, which had a strong presence in her work and was prevalent when she probed the lighter side of life. She enjoyed combining realism with elements of fantasy, tossing in an unexpected touch of the surreal for flavor. Jann pushed the boundaries of her subjects to the place where they came alive, and their story began to unfold. The incorporation of these unexpected elements is her whimsical trademark, and the kiss is her seal.
In addition to her love of art, Jann cherished time spent with her grandchildren and lifelong friends. She knew how to work a room and was always the life of the party.
Survivors include her daughters, Julia Harrison (Brandon) Peters and Katherine Harrison (Jon) Bell, grandchildren, Madison Rose Peters, Harrison Wesley Bell and Jack Wallace Bell.
