Jay Atkins lost his battle with cancer and passed away on January 2, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on April 5, 1963, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Jay was a loving father, devoted friend, and a talented musician.
Jay had a deep passion for music and enjoyed playing the guitar. He also loved football and spending time outdoors.
Jay will be dearly missed by his surviving family members, including his father, Crawley F Joyner III, his daughters Mallory Atkins Goodson, Abigail Atkins Zewicky, and Hailey Atkins. He is also survived by his grandson, Grady James Goodson and sister, Susan Atkins. Jay was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Atkins Joyner, and his father, James Hoyt Atkins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Pavillion at Harpeth Hills Memory Garden on February 10, 2024, from noon to 2pm. Friends, family, and loved ones are invited to join in commemorating his life.
Jay will be remembered for his love of music, football and his warm and caring nature. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
