Jerry Richard Baker

 Jerry Richard Baker, age 77, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Born on January 28, 1947, to the late Orvil and Mildred Baker, Jerry was a devoted Christian and loved his family. He attended Bellevue High School.

Throughout his life, Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures—whether it was watching westerns on television, tending to his garden, or cheering on the Chicago Cubs. He was a dedicated family man who cherished the moments spent with his loved ones. One of Jerry’s favorite things to do was fish. He not only shared this passion with his wife, but also his sons and grandchildren. This incredible man has left us all with amazing memories and love that he gave in his own special way. May we always know he is right there next to us every time we cast a line.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Orvil and Mildred Baker, and his sisters, Teresa Beard and Denise Stewart. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara Singleton-Baker, with whom he was one month shy of having fifty-seven years of marriage. He is also survived by his two sons, Johnny (Tina) Baker and Jimmy (Tonya) Baker; his brother, Gene Baker; and his grandchildren, Dillan (Samantha) Baker, Paige (Wyatt) Jones, Katie (Kendall) Reynolds, Savannah Baker, Serena Baker, Meagan (Hayden) Whitby, and Marcus Flick. Jerry’s legacy continues with his great-grandchildren, Caden, Jesse, Brelynn, and Braxton.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 9:30am until the hour of service. The funeral service will begin at 11:30am in the chapel of Harpeth Hills Funeral Home in Nashville, Tennessee with Rod Stamps officiating. Burial will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
