Jesse Eli Blackburn, age 25, of Hurricane Mills, TN went home to be with his Heavenly Father Sunday, August 9, 2020. Jesse was born May 15, 1995 in Nashville, TN and grew up in Fairview, TN. He is survived by his parents, Terrell Warren (Terry) and Angela Shawn Bigham Blackburn. He is also survived by his brother, William (Billy Joe) Harvey and wife, Shelby; sister, Tayler Blackburn; niece, Paisley Davis; nephew, Silas Harvey; baby nephew on the way, Rodney Harvey; maternal grandparents, William and Linda Leegan; paternal grandmother, Virginia Terry; uncle, Ricky Blackburn; aunt, Darlene Gibby; aunt, Reba (Marty) Byrd; uncle, Phillip (Darla) Leegan; and numerous other great aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends, Haley Morrill and Tristin Weaver.
Jesse is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Terrell Gibby Jr.; maternal grandfather, Robert Bigham and uncle, Rodney Bigham.
Jesse graduated from Fairview High School, class of 2014. Jesse was a member of the Local 572 Plumbers and Pipefitters and was a 3rd year apprentice, studying to be a journeyman. He was currently employed by Nashville Machine.
Jesse was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, swimming, camping, canoeing, kayaking, boating, 4-wheeling, riding motorcycles and anything related to outdoor activities. He spent many hours target practicing (especially on his grandfather's farm in Hurricane Mills, TN) with his family and friends. Jesse loved all sports, but baseball was his favorite. He won many awards throughout his baseball career and was honored in Who's Who in Babe Ruth League in 2006 and 2007 and is recognized in the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York.
Jesse was a Christian who had given his life to Christ when he was a small boy. He was a respectful, kindhearted, loving person who deeply loved his family and friends. Jesse's love for people was no greater than the moment he signed his organ donor card. Because of his great love for others, 4 people were given a second chance at life through his organ donation.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 22nd, 2020 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM with the service beginning at 4:00 PM.
