Jimmy Wayne Odum passed away on August 1, 2024. He was born on February 14, 1942, in Nashville, TN. Jimmy was a cherished husband, dedicated father, adored grandfather, and a friend to many.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Katherine Odum; children Karen (Marshall) Winkler, Steven (Barbara) Odum; grandchildren Michelle (Jake) Ridings, Theresa (Yani) Odum, Angie Odum, Jessica (Justin) Bell, Kasey (Rich) Houston, Lauren (Vince) Lloyd, Kyle (Jasmine) Odum, Tiffanie (Kyle) Creamer, Michael (Kelly) Blaylock, Taylor (Nichole) Parks, Taylor (Sheldon) Brewer; 20 great grandchildren and numerous friends and loved ones.
Jimmy was a man of many talents and passions. He was the owner of an auto parts store and worked there for many years. His warm personality and jovial spirit made him a favorite among all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Jimmy's sense of humor shone brightly, and you knew he liked you if he playfully teased you – a true jokester at heart.
Jimmy had a wide array of interests and hobbies that brought him joy. From his love for fishing to his devotion to his family and faith in God, he lived life to the fullest. He was a dedicated member of Westmeade Fellowship Church. Jimmy also enjoyed tinkering, playing guitar, listening to guitar music, and spending time with his dogs. For numerous years, he served as a deacon in his church, touching the lives of many with his kindness and compassion. Jimmy could also be found watching birds and rabbits from the comfort of his deck and traveling to Gatlinburg’s Smokey Mountains with Katherine.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 11:30am ~1:30pm with a Celebration of Life at 1:30pm all at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home 9090 Highway 100 Nashville, TN 37221
Bro. Mike Shelton, who has been a dear friend of the family will officiate the services to honor Jimmy's life.
In our hearts forever etched is the memory of Jimmy Wayne Odum – May his spirit find eternal peace as we carry forward the light he brought into our lives.
