Joanne Hollingsworth

Joanne Moates Hollingsworth was born September 20, 1935 in Fayetteville, TN. After a year of struggling from a stroke, Joanne passed away at the age of 88 on June 23, 2024 at NHC in Dickson TN. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Erskine Moates and Hassie Moates; daughter, Letia Lynn Malone; son, Dennis Franklin Hite; sisters, Ruth Moates Eskew, Helen Moates Anderson, Louise Moates Cranmer; brother, William Carl Moates. 

She is survived by her loving husband Frank Hollingsworth, his children, and their families, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Joanne was a graduate of the class of 1954 from Hume Fogg High School in Nashville, Tennessee. She greatly enjoyed helping and organizing the class reunions. She enjoyed her job and retired from St. Thomas Hospital.

Joanne was a caring Christian wife and mother. She loved to take early morning walks with her son, Dennis. She enjoyed working by Frank’s side in the estate sale business. Seeing babies and children always made her face light up with a smile. She loved to journal and reach out to others with her cards and phone calls. 

She was a member of Charlotte Heights Church of Christ. She always enjoyed receiving all the encouraging cards from the ladies Bible Study. 

She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She has found peace in the loving comfort of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
