Joe Harris Daniel

Joe Harris Daniel, age 92, of Charlotte, Tennessee passed away on July 10, 2024. He was born to the late Harris Crawford and Nettie Gertrude Miller Daniel. Joe was a faithful Christian and strong leader of his family. He was a fifty-year member of Liberty United Methodist Church of Charlotte, Tennessee. 

Joe was a Charlotte High School graduate, and later provided a thirty-four year long service to Ford Glass Plant in Nashville. Along his life’s journey, Joe became a fan of the University of Tennessee athletics, raising cattle, and small woodworking projects. He began to clear his own land of trees and cut firewood at home during the winters, and in doing so, he expanded the land for more pasture for his cattle. He also collected the wood for his handmade projects. 

He proudly served his country in the Air Force. Joe held a sixty-seven-year membership at the UAW Local 737.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents listed above; brothers, Lewis Wyatt Daniel, and Clyde Hickman Daniel; sisters, Virginia Elizabeth Cole, and Bessie Gertrude McPeak.

He is survived by his loving wife of seventy-one years, Bonnie Jean Daniel. Joe is also survived by his children, Dennis Harris Daniel (Lynn) and Wyatt Dale Daniel; his sister, Mary Tennessee Walters; grandchildren, Duane Harris Daniel (Karen), and Nathan Crawford Daniel (Nichole); great-grandchildren, Easton, Kennedy, Tyler (Kayla), Mitchell, and Cameron; and great-great grandchildren, Teagan and Lincoln.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Loggins Family Cemetery (215 Old Highway 48, Charlotte, TN 37036) in Joe Daniel’s honor. 

A visitation will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 11:30 until the time of service. The funeral service will begin at 1:30pm in the chapel with Tommy Clark officiating. The burial will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens at 2:30pm. 

Serving as pallbearers will be David Daniel, Duane Daniel, Nathan Daniel, and Dan Walters.
