John Alexander Barnes passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. John was in born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 31, 1981. Shortly thereafter, the family relocated to Tennessee and John remained a long-time Middle Tennessean after that time. John attended Christ the King School, Father Ryan High School and obtained his bachelor's degree from Tennessee Tech University, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. After college, John enjoyed careers in the banking and entertainment industries.
John is survived by his parents, John and Jean Barnes; his brother, Jake (Breanna) Barnes; his sister Sarah (Kevin) Baltz; his nieces, Evelyn and Eleanor Baltz; and his fishing buddy nephew, Andrew Baltz. John is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins, who all loved spending quality time with him.
John will be remembered as a loving son, dedicated brother, fun uncle, and loyal friend. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time with good rapids and great friends. He was also completely devoted to his best bud, Sasha.
Visitation will be held at Christ the King Church on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 9:30am to 10:30 am. A funeral Mass will commence on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 10:30 am also at Christ the King Church. In lieu of flowers, the Barnes Family requests that contributions be made to the Ocoee River Foundation and Economic Development Fund Board, which, like John, is dedicated to preserving the Ocoee River and surrounding areas for all to enjoy.
