John David Carter, Sr., age 68 of Ashland City, TN went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2015.

JD was born in Nashville, TN on July 26, 1946 to the late Marshall & Ruby Carter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Carter; brother, Jackie Carter; sisters, Shearon Gillihan & Jo Ann Heath & 2 grandchildren, Zachary & Tracy Heath.

Survivors include his loving wife Teresa Carter; children, Teresa Ann Cater, Veronica Carter, Tammy (Stacy) Hardy, Linda (Matthew) Chandler, JC (Kim) Carter, Shawn (Meggan) Speck; siblings, Gloria (Harold) Stone, Marshall (Wanda) Carter, Judy (James) Hodges, Marilyn (Rodney) Bellamy, Phillip (Pam) Carter, Robin Carter, Jimmy (Theresa) Carter & Betty Carter; 13 grandchildren & 6 Great Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Monday April 27, 2015 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home where a celebration of Doc's life will be conducted on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11:00 am with an hour visitation prior to service.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Loving memory of Doc Carter.
