John “J.T.” Hudgins, passed away in Nashville, TN, on February 14, 2024. He was born on December 24, 1946, to William Noah and Lillie Pearl Hudgins.
Preceded in death by his parents William Noah and Lillie Pearl Hudgins; 2 brothers, 3 sisters and nephew Mark Green.
Survived by his loving wife Becky Hudgins; children Johnny (Hope) Hudgins, Sandra (Ronnie) Brown, Erin (Michael) Dorris, Micah Estes, Chris Estes; grandchildren David Brown, Dana Brown, Ashton Dorris, Jake Dorris, Ellie Estes, Isaac Estes, Myles Hudgins, Jonathan Hudgins; sister Rosie (Percy) Green as well as numerous friends and loved ones.
J.T. and his brother Bill were the proud owners and operators of Hudgins Disposal, a company they established in 1962. Throughout the years, J.T.'s dedication and hard work helped build a successful business that served the community.
Outside of work, J.T. lived a life full of simple pleasures and laughter. A giver at heart, he found joy in making others smile. His sense of humor was legendary among those fortunate enough to share moments with him.
J.T. had many interests that fueled his spirit. He attending car shows, where he marveled at the beauty and craftsmanship of automobiles. Tinkering under the hood of his beloved 1973 Camaro and 1956 Chevy Bel Air was a source of genuine happiness for him. In earlier years, he could be found hunting, enjoying a round of golf and riding motorcycles.
Amongst all these activities, one theme remained constant: family time held an essential place in J.T.'s heart. Traveling with his wife and creating memories that will forever be cherished. Whether boating or fishing at their lakehouse, J.T. enjoyed being outdoors.
Deeply rooted in his Christian faith, J.T.’s belief brought him comfort and guided him through a life of compassion and love.
To honor J.T.’s memory and celebrate a life well-lived, visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 3:00pm ~ 7:00pm and Tuesday, February 20 from 10:30am ~ 11:30am with a Celebration of Life at 11:30am the burial will immediately follow all at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home 9090 Highway 100 Nashville, TN 37221
J.T. touched the lives of many with his genuine kindness and humor. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
