Mercer, John Ernest, age 73 of Nashville born November 10, 1938; passed away July 3, 2012. Johnny had two passions, baking and sports. He ran and was passed down the family bakery, Lem's Country Kitchen. We still hear people say, "those fudge pies…yummmm". Johnny loved all kinds of sports with baseball being his all-time favorite. He was a huge Braves fan. The only sport he liked any better was watching his grand-daughter Courtney playing softball. As long as he was able, he was at EVERY game. Johnny was survived by 6 children: Brooks Mercer, Jeff Mercer Denise, Lisa Collier Billy, Lori Weir Chris, Michael Mercer Andrea and Justin Mercer; and 4 grandchildren: Kyndal Shelton Peter, Alysha Mercer, Brent Collier, and Courtney Collier; and 1 great-grandson: Jahmari Bryce Suttles. Visitation will be July 7 at 10am, followed by funeral service at 1pm, and burial to follow at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN 615-646-9292.
