He was born September 22, 1942 in Winnebago, MN. He graduated from the University of Montana in 1964, and served in the United States Army from 1965-1967. After leaving the Army, Jack graduated from the Mayo Clinic School of Physical Therapy in 1969. His first job as an athletic trainer was at the University of Michigan. From there, Jack moved to Vanderbilt University where he served for 10 years. In 1981, Jack moved to the private sector treating varsity, professional and recreational athletes. He was a Hall of Fame Member of the NATA, SEATA, MTCFH & TATS, all organizations that he was honored to be a part of.
He worked in Sports Medicine for over 40 years. This career allowed him to truly shine with his great personality and selfless mentality. He once stated that he lived life by the Golden Rule - "I've just tried to treat people like I want to be treated. And try to treat each person as just that - an individual person, not a statistic".
Jack was a loving husband, father and mentor to many - he rarely met a stranger. When he wasn't helping others, he enjoyed golfing, and most of all spending time with family.
