John Boyd Tyrrell, known affectionately as Boyd, passed away on July 23, 2023, at his residence. Born on March 31, 1966, in England, he was a dedicated individual who made valuable contributions in the field of information technology (IT), specifically in the database sector.
Boyd dedicated a significant portion of his life to his career in IT. He demonstrated an exceptional level of commitment and expertise in handling database systems. His unrivaled knowledge greatly benefited the industry and those he worked with.
Aside from his professional accomplishments, Boyd valued his connections with family and friends. He leaves behind a loving wife named Sealy Xia, who supported him throughout his journey. Additionally, Boyd is survived by his mother, Jane Tyrrell, and his sister, Anne Feltner. Their lives were enriched by Boyd's presence, and he will be deeply missed.
A service to honor and remember Boyd's life will be held at the Harpeth Hills Memory Garden, Funeral Home & Cremation Center located at 9090 TN-100 in Nashville, TN. The visitation events will take place on Sunday, July 30 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, July 31 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 1 at 11:00 AM.
The loss of Boyd Tyrrell leaves a void not only within the IT community but also among his family and friends. His dedication to his work and his kindness towards others will always be remembered. May he rest in peace knowing that he made a lasting impact during his time with us.
