Joyce Crawford

Joyce Crawford, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Nashville, Tennessee on October 28, 2024. She was born in Dickson County, Tennessee on December 19, 1934, to the late Euguene Basil Tidwell and Lora Debusk Tidwell. 

Joyce lived a life of service to the community working as a registered nurse for twenty-five years at Baptist Hospital. She earned her degree from the University of Tennessee in Nashville. Being active within her community and church, Joyce was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and attended Charlotte Heights Church of Christ for many years. 

Joyce had a heart for people and never allowed herself to meet a stranger. She enjoyed spending time with anyone that would indulge in good conversation with her. She also loved flowers, food, and traveling. You could often find her on her deck feeding her chipmunks, squirrels, and birds, always keeping her birdfeeder filled for them. 

Joyce is preceded in death by her two sisters, Peggy Gossett and Betty Jo Hewgley. She is survived by her son, Lawrence “Larry” Davis, granddaughter, Maegan Davis Nichols and her cousin, Debbie Hayes. 

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 4th, 2024, from 11:30am to 1:30pm. The service will follow beginning at 1:30pm in the chapel of Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Josh Barnett and Kory Crow officiating. 

 A special thank you to Steve and Stephanie Lamar and Lakisha Smith for their loving attention to Joyce that allowed her to remain in her home.
