Judith "Judy" Lanier Engels of Nashville, Tenn., passed away at St. Thomas Midtown on Tuesday, February 5; she was 69 years old.
Judy, preceded in death by her father Robert Boyd Engels, is survived by her husband of 28 beautiful years, Grady Ring; step-daughter, Brittany Leigh Way; granddaughter, Reagan Nicole Way; mother, Sarah Lanier Engels; brother, Larry Boyd Engels; sister-in-law, Cynthia Engels; nephew, Bret Allen Engels; "granddaughter", Christia Treanor; and cousin, Dr. Susan Broyles.
Judy traveled the world with "Up With People" for 2 years. She graduated from American University and was employed at the Smithsonian Institute for 10 years. She spent two years on Capitol Hill and was appointed Nashville's first Arts Commissioner by Richard Fulton. Judy worked for the State of Tennessee for 20 years in the personnel department for testing.
Her home was open to all!
Visitation will be Thursday, February 14, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., at Belle Meade United Methodist Church.
