Julia E. Byrd

Mrs. Julia Edwards Byrd age 80, of Lewisburg, TN. passed away on January 12, 2024, at NHC Lewisburg, TN.  

Julia was born on July 31, 1943, to the late James Henry Edwards and Iva Mae Fly Edwards. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William C. (Bill) Byrd, son, James William Lemon and sisters, Dorothy Jean Faught, and Mary Lucille Crafton. Julia, a soul with a profound appreciation for the simple joys of life, has left us with a legacy of warmth and gentleness. Among her many passions, she found solace and delight in the worlds of literature and nature. 

A voracious reader, Julia's love for books was a window into her curious and imaginative mind. Whether lost in the pages of a novel or engrossed in the wisdom of poetry, she found a sanctuary in the written word. Her collection of books was a testament to the vast landscapes of stories that captured her heart and soul. 

Beyond the pages, Julia's green thumb spoke volumes about her nurturing spirit. Gardening was not just a hobby for her; it was a form of artistry. The vibrant colors of blooming flowers and the soothing rustle of leaves brought her immense joy. Her garden reflected the beauty she saw in the world a beauty she cultivated and shared with those around her. 

Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Norden, step sons, William Blake (Kathy) Byrd and Lloyd Anderson (Rita) Byrd, siblings, James Lester (Joyce) Edwards, Glenda Marie Dodd, Janet Yvonne Waynick, David Randall (Judy) Edwards, Teresa Kay Taft, Priscilla Gale Roberts, Kenneth Wayne Edwards, and Charles Henry (Ellen) Edwards, grandchildren, William Cody (Alex) Norden, Sean Lemon, Shayne Lemon and Christa Moreland, step grandchildren, Stacy Hartley (Jerriamy), Bud (Bernadette) Byrd and Oliver Byrd, great grandchildren, William Colt Norden and Waylon Newby. 

Visitation with the family will begin on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 9:00 am until service time at 11:30 with burial to follow. All service to be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN. 37221.
