Julia Elliston

Julia Ann Brand Dotson Elliston came to the world on Aug 3, 1938, in Sapulpa, OK. Her soul chose to depart on Oct 28, 2024. She was an accomplished, loving mother with two biological sons, three adopted sons and a daughter. 

She married Johnny Dotson in Nov of 1956, giving birth to John Marvyn Dotson in Nov 1957 and Gregory Wade Dotson in December 1959. They moved to Nashville in 1972 as Johnny got a record deal with Warner Bros. She later married Dr. Dan Elliston and moved to Asheville, NC, where they became an international baby adoption center with kids from Chile & Honduras. She returned to Nashville in the late 90’s and passed while at NHC Place in Bellevue. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Brand and Florence Howser and Johnny Dotson. She is survived by her children, John and Greg Dotson, David, Michael and Paul Elliston. She’s also survived by her half-sisters Lynell Kennedy and Johnna Pound; her granddaughter Amy Dotson (Davis) and great grandchild Anna Beth. 

She is already missed but never forgotten because of the love, kindness and generosity of spirit she shared with her friends and family. The family greatly appreciates the support and love of the marvelous caretakers at Alive Hospice and NHC Place.
