NASHVILLE – Passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024.
Preceded in passing by her parents, Felix Stockell Gower Jr and Jenny Hunt Gower, sisters, Betty Ann Gower Cordes and June’s twin Jane Gower Hulett, her brother Joe D Gower and his wife Joy Moss Gower. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Mike A Gilmore, son Michael Wayne Gilmore (Carol); granddaughter Melea (Ben), nephew Jeffery Malone (Marie) and, niece Monica Jo Gower (Duke).
June was a native of West Nashville, she attended Richland Elementary; and was on the girls’ basketball team with her twin sister. She went on to Bellevue High School. She was an avid fan of Tennessee Vols Football and both Ladies and Men’s Basketball.
She loved being a Travel Agent. For 30 years she made arrangements for her customers for business and pleasure and in the process traveled abroad frequently. She loved to travel and visit the wonders of the world. Due to her husband’s management position with Yellow Pages, she has lived in Dayton, OH; Cleveland, OH; Rochester, NY; Orange, CA; Cincinnati, OH and, returned to Nashville in 1997. This sweet, kind, and lovable Lady had a full life with Mike and friends all over the country.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 10:30am with a Celebration of Life at 11:30am Pastor David Filson, will officiate. Inurnment immediately following at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN 37221 615-646-9292.
