Kathleen Adele Basford

Kathleen Adele Rhyne Basford (82) of Nashville, TN passed away on January 19, 2025. Funeral services are private and entrusted to Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. 

 Kathleen was born on April 15, 1942, to Hazel and Leroy Rhyne in Nashville, TN. She graduated from Trevecca Nazarene College with a Bachelor of Arts in education and psychology. 

 A dedicated teacher, Kathleen taught first grade for 29 years at Grassland Elementary in Williamson County. Kathleen’s favorite part of teaching was watching the children grow throughout the year and learn new things. 

 Although her first love was teaching, she also loved to read, travel, and be outdoors. As an avid gardener, there was no plant that she could not grow. 

 Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charlie Ben, and is survived by her two daughters, Kara (Godineaux) and Stephanie Basford; son-in-law, Santos (Godineaux); and her two grandchildren, Darian and Cora.
