SMITH, Kay M. – Dedicated mother and grandmother, graduate of West End High School, she was awarded numerous achievements in her 28 years of service at Vanderbilt University. Survived by husband Lynn "Sal" Smith; daughters, Kathy L. Bishop and Christie D. Ron Hale; 4 grandchildren, Jeb Bishop, Caleb Bishop, Ronnie Hale and Lyndie Hale; sister, Jeannie Bob Rice; brother, Dyer Tina Matlock; sister in law, Susan Frieling; niece, Andrea Knight, and nephew, Gordon Rice. The Life Celebration will be on Sunday, September 16, 2012, at 2pm, at the West Harpeth Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12 noon until the service hour at West Harpeth Funeral Home.
