Kellie was born on February 19, 1968 in Nashville, TN to Phyllis Lee (Gayden) Selser and Mac Gayden. She attended Hillwood High School, Nashville State Technical College, and worked in several medical & business offices before refocusing her support towards family, friends and neighbors. Kellie’s infectious laugh, mischevious smile and non-assuming nature was a magnet for other kindred spirits. She was the family peacemaker, fought for the underdog and understood the importance of laughter in strenghtening friendships.
Over 25 years ago she fell in love with and married, James (Jimbo) Nelson. They built a life grounded in love, simple joys, compassion and service to others. Kellie also leaves behind her devoted and loving son Kristopher (Rebecca) Nelson, daughter Logan Love, and grandchildren Kaidence and Harley Jean. Other survivers: father; Mac (Diane) Gayden; step-father Gary Sesler; five siblings; Mac (Jennie) Gayden Jr; Katherine (Friedrich) Krispin, Kimberly Gayden, Oceana (Scott) Sheehan, and Karrie (Dave) Shackleford; and two aunts; Jennifer (Robert) Stockard and Merrilyn (Douglas) Pegg. As well as her many cousins, nieces and nephews. Kellie also deeply loved and cherished her extended family, Lillian Nelson, Tori Nelson, Hayley Nelson, Abbey (Mikan) Harris, Jason (Angie) Cockerham and Brad (Mary) Cockerham.
Kellie was a spiritual, loving and innocent person. Always understanding, accepting and ready to help others in need. She loved gardening, drawing, animals, art, beauty, and the beach. She so loved her McMinnville cousins and even once ventured to Pocatello, Idaho (to visit her aunt) but she always loved returning to the sanctity of her home in Nashville. Although we greive, we take comfort in knowing she’s now in her heavenly home, free of pain, with her mother, grandmother and lord and savior Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed by those lucky enough to have known her.
