Kevin Wahl- Born in Commack Long Island, New York on December 15, 1964.
Passed away on February 25, 2019 and resided in Brentwood, Tennessee. He died at the age of 54 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Kathleen Wahl.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Leigh Wahl; daughter Grace Wahl; brothers Richard (Regina) Wahl,
Thomas (Maureen) Wahl, Brian (Mary) Wahl; sisters Kathleen Roder and Maureen (Steve)
Marrs; nieces Kaydian (Ryan) Langhi, Danielle (Daniel) Mabry, Maggie Wahl, Lauren Wahl, Lizzie
Clute; nephews Eric Wahl, Lee Wahl, Thomas Wahl, Bennett Wahl, Jacob Clute; mother-in-law
Dianne Tanner (Bill) Nettles; sister-in-law Kristen (Jeremy) Clute.

Kevin was a graduate of Father Ryan High School, Nashville and the University of Tennessee,
Knoxville. He met his wife Leigh on their first day of college. They shared nearly 34 years
together and almost 29 years of marriage. Kevin and Leigh had a beautiful daughter, Grace
Tiernan who is now 21 years old. All parents want their children to have more than they had;
Kevin already felt he had everything. He took pride in Grace because she got the best qualities
of Leigh and himself, but also believed Grace to be inherently better than the both of her
parents combined. Kevin would ponder if parenting played a part in who Grace became but in
his heart he believed she was a pure blessing from God.

Kevin was employed by The State of Tennessee/Department of General Services. His primary
job involved working within the Law Enforcement Support Program. He was extremely fond of
his boss, enjoyed the company of his work peers, and easily knew everyone by name.
At work, he was eager to do the heavy lifting and known to do a favor for anyone in need; he
got a kick out of exchanging amusing texts although he was old school where the cellphone was
concerned; he would share Leigh and Grace stories, looked forward to going out to lunch with
his work friends, and would even ‘ham it up' with the local county sheriffs and department
employees.

Kevin was everyone's best friend. He loved life and spending time with family and a large group
of friends. He could easily be the center of attention in any situation. He did so to amuse others
and in hopes of putting others at ease with one another. He was skilled at bringing people
together. Sometimes he would tease mercilessly but that really meant that you were important
to him.

Kevin enjoyed playing all sports and games. He was a natural athlete and had a competitive
instinct. He enjoyed teaching others how to play and would purposely make errors in order to
explain the nuances of the games he knew: whether it was the spelling game called ‘ghost' --a
favorite at the dinner table or the ‘dice' game he would spontaneously start-- just to pass the
time on a rainy day.

Kevin was a self-proclaimed ‘ambassador of disc golf' in Nashville. He researched different
frisbee golf courses throughout Tennessee and would recruit others to join him in a travel
game. He even searched out courses when traveling to other states. Kevin had a knack for
sport statistics and would catalogue the wins/losses especially when it came to disc golf. There
was a joke that if you opened the back of Kevin's jeep, he was equipped to play any game.
He was a huge fan of the Nashville Predators, New York Yankees and Tennessee Volunteers.
Kevin possessed an endless amount of trivia. Some of us wondered if he had at one time
memorized the Trivial Pursuit boxes. Even during his illness, Kevin continued to amaze us with
very specific details that any other person would easily forget. Those who knew him well would
even question their own capacity for memories and events. He liked knowing that he could
keep us guessing and that he was a little bit of a mystery to figure out. He was and always will
be one of a kind.

Kevin was a free spirit and never sweat the small stuff. He believed strongly in choosing to
focus on the positive. He thought worrying was a waste of time. Kevin loved to say, "there are
no coincidences." Things work out the way they should.
Kevin was a strong believer in organ donation. He was known to give out donation bracelets
and stickers. Kevin never took off his Donate Life bracelet. He wore it for 18 years: from the
day Leigh was diagnosed with kidney disease until the day it was removed from his wrist when
he went into surgery for his biopsy.

Kevin did not care about money or possessions or status. He loved things for their sentimental
value. He was known to be a collector which meant he held onto every single football ticket,
card that he received, any masterpiece by Grace, and love letter from Leigh.
He had an eye for spotting coins on the ground daily and kept a bowl of silver that never
emptied. Often he would buy lottery tickets just to see if he could beat his record in keeping up
with his original dollar spent.

Kevin was an absolute animal lover and had many pets over the years including dogs and
rabbits. He even got excited about the guinea pigs, hermit crabs and birds that Leigh would
often bring home from work over the school holidays. He collected acorns by the dozens just to
feed the chipmunks around the house and even took the time to figure out which type of trees
produced their favorite meal. He loved to watch the birds out on the patio and also enjoyed
naming them.

Kevin was drawn to history; relished in learning about the saints, angels and all things ‘Catholic'.
He loved parks and had a fondness for trees, and a special appreciation for nature.
Kevin gazed at the stars often and was in awe of the Universe.
Kevin truly had a wonderful outlook on life and started each day as a new beginning. He lived
by the phrase: Choose to be Happy everyday! Choose to be at Peace and Grow closer to God everyday.
