Biography
Mr. Khalil Banaeian, 78, died on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Thomas hospital in Nashville, TN, following complications from a surgery.
He was born on April 26, 1937 in Shiraz, Iran to Moustafa and Nafassi. Khalil entered military academy at a young age of 16. Ten years later he married Soraya Beladi. Over the following decades, Khalil progressed in his military career, ultimately reaching the highest rank of a general. During this time, he and Soraya lovingly raised a family of three children. Khalil served his country during the revolution and war. He was an exemplary leader, recognized for his heroic actions, loyalty and dedication. Khalil retired from military in 1986 and subsequently moved to Brentwood, TN, where he lived for 22 years.
Khalil is survived by his wife of 52 years, Soraya Beladi; his son, Babak and his wife, Leila; his daughter Soheyl and her husband, Abbas; his daughter Setareh and her husband, Steve; six grandchildren, Auria, Arman, Kiana, Shayan, Jett and Cash; and many close relatives and friends.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and a friend, always putting others before himself. He had the most generous, loving heart and touched many lives with his presence. His family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was his life.
