Ladye Lou Pitts Burkheart
Ladye Lou passed away on November 5, 2015 at the age of 97. She was born on October 10, 1918 to Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Marshall Pitts of Rutherford County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Allen Burkheart; her parents; three brothers, Jack Coleman, Lyle and Fred; sister, Margie Pitts Hames.
Ladye Lou began her career at the Telephone Company in 1941; she then joined Aladdin Industries in 1949, the year they opened. She retired in 1982 and was a proud member of the ‘49ers club. She was an active member of Glenwood Baptist Church and later Woodmont Baptist Church and The Golden Rule Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her nieces, Luanne Pitts Waltemath (Gary) of Nashville, Janet Pitts Beckmann of Seattle, WA, Sue Burkheart and Gretchen Pitts of Murfreesboro, Freida Pitts Sage (Rick) of Smyrna, Donia Hames Robinson of Napa, CA; nephews, Lynn Marshall Pitts (Judy) of Savannah, GA; Michael Pitts of Murfreesboro, Adam Hames of Atlanta; sister-in-law, Joyce Brewer Pitts of Murfreesboro.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Semmes, Sr., Sherry Semmes, Joe Semmes, Jr., and Shelley Semmes Griffin.
A Graveside service will be at Roselawn Gardens in Murfreesboro on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 1:00. Visitation will be held at Woodmont Baptist Church on Friday, from 3 p.m.- 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory would be greatly appreciated to The Green Hills Retired Teachers Apartments 2209 Abbott Martin Rd. Nashville, TN 37215.
