Lee Richard McCormick, aged 68, passed away on October 26, 2024, in his home in Nashville,TN, USA. Born on January 24, 1956, in Jacksonville, Florida, Lee was a beloved figure in his community and beyond, known for his generous, brilliant, and kind nature.
Lee graduated from Episcopal School of Jacksonville, in Florida, and later attended Belmont University, where he was a theater enthusiast. He was a real-life cowboy, deeply connected to the land and animals. His career in the cattle industry was marked by his awards given by the Cattlemen's Association and his work with his farm and McCormick Quarter Horses, in Pinewood, Tennessee.
Lee's passion for music led him to a deep love of songwriting and cowboy music, and sharing a stage with some of Nashville’s greatest country music legends.
He also founded The Recovery Ranch, The Canyon in Malibu, California, and Integrative Life Center, creating spaces dedicated to mental health and rehabilitation, where he made a significant impact on many lives. Lee McCormick made a global impact on the Addiction and Recovery world through his ability to change the blanketed 12 step program by approaching everyone's recovery in a unique and spiritual light. This led to the founding of SpiritRecovery.com and writing 3 books as well as one of the founders of The Dreaming House in Teotihuacán, Mexico.
Lee is survived by the love of his life, wife, Mee McCormick; daughters, Bella McCormick, Lola McCormick, Alexis Kirby, and Ana McCormick Rowe; five grandchildren, Sydney, Avery, Jacob,Piper, and Paxton; and numerous extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Davis, father, Benjamin McCormick, and siblings, Barbra and Skipper.
Lee's hobbies included riding horses, playing guitar, singing, surfing, songwriting, and spending cherished time with his family and friends. His life was a testament to his ability to love fiercely and unconditionally.
