Born October 19, 1933 to William Franklin (WF) and Sarah Elizabeth Sullivan Daugherty.
Birthplace was at his family home on Hwy 100 in Fairview, TN. He was the last of 13 children and was a twin.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Minnie (Alice) Forehand Daugherty, of 64 years, his parents, 8 brothers and 4 sisters, multiple nephews, nieces, cousins and other close family members. He was also a loving son-in-law to the late Herman and Minnie Forehand of Franklin, TN.
He is survived by his son, Bruce M. Daugherty (Lynette) of Memphis TN. Daughters Loretta Love of Zanesville OH, Karon Foster (Tim) of Amory MS, and Ellen Baxter of Edmond OK. Grandchildren Melissa Love Ashlin (Jeremy) of TX, Jennifer Killian Hutson (Cody) of Amory MS, Jason Love of Hot Springs Arkansas, Amy Killian Stewart of Amory MS, Matthew Love (Madison) of Beebe Arkansas, Kathryn Killian Walker of Amory MS, Derek Baxter (Kaitlyn) of Edmond OK, Mary Kate Smith (Ian) of Memphis TN, Megan Baxter of Edmond OK, and Brandon Daugherty (Madison) of Memphis TN. Great Grandchildren Natalie, Allison, Jonas, Sawyer and Caleb Ashlin, Shiloh and August Love, Jacob, Tanner, Tucker and Kaelee Reed Hutson, Chase Foster, and Elizabeth (Libby) Stewart. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was a Veteran of Foreign War, serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired from the US Air Force after 20 years of service and retired from the United States Postal Service, metro Nashville. Mr. Daugherty was a member of the Lord’s church at LaVergne church of Christ where he was a faithful member and served as a deacon for over 40 years. Together with his wife, Alice, they raised four children and influenced many lives through their benevolence work with the LaVergne congregation. He was a supporter of Churches of Christ Disaster Relief, Nashville TN. He enjoyed his large family from the time he was a young child to the time of his passing. He was a storyteller and loved being around his friends and family. He enjoyed reading, working on cars and small engine repairs, fishing, camping and traveling.
Monetary contributions may be made to the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief, Nashville TN.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 3:00pm - 7:00pm and Thursday 1:30pm - 2:30pm with a Celebration of Life at 2:30pm all at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
