WHITNEY, Lois Geery-age 87, went to be with Lord on September 13, 2012. Her legacy began in Downing Missouri where she grew up with her parents Victor and Lula Smoot and brother Robert. Lois loved flowers, shrubs, and trees. She was a member of the Church of Christ, working faithfully with the Madison congregation for 30 years. Lois loved the many friends she made over the course of her life time, one long time friend Jean Slate. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, son Steven, first husband William Geery, Step Son Bill Whitney, Jr. Those left to cherish her precious memories are 2 daughters, Lanelle Basket, Lana Hunter, and son, David Geery. Husband Bill Whitney and step son Charles Whitney. She was the grandmother to 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home from 12p.m.-2p.m. a graveside service will follow at 2p.m. in Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Brother Frank Scott officiating.
