Marie was born in Primm Springs, TN to Thelma Melissa Miller (Alexander) and James Alford Miller on July 16th, 1939. She was married to King Edward Herndon, retired Captain of the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department. Marie worked as a dental assistant for 30 years (retired) and spent many of those years working in the office of Dr. John Douglass. Marie was an active member of the Forest Hills Baptist Church and the Good News Sunday School Class.
Marie is preceded in death by Edward Herndon (husband), Vallie May Miller (sister) and Audrey Miller (sister).
Marie is survived by James Wilson Miller (brother), Dorothy Miller (sister) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Alive Hospice, the Polycystic Kidney Foundation and Forest Hills Baptist Church.
The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to her many friends, Dr. Richard Garman, Alive Hospice and its nurses and staff, the Forest Hills Baptist Church and the class members of the Good News Sunday School Class.
A memorial service to celebrate Marie's life will be held on Sunday, May 7th at the Forest Hills Baptist Church at 2101 Old Hickory Blvd, Nashville, TN 37215. Visitation with family and friends will begin at 2 PM CST and the memorial service at 3 PM CST.
