Of: Nashville, TN passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at The Residence of Alive Hospice surrounded by her family and friends. She was born December 19, 1936, in Bon Aqua, TN. Rita was a graduate of Hickman County High School in 1957. Her childhood was filled with fond memories of playing with her 10 siblings. It was a house filled with love, laughter, and fun.

Rita lived a life defined by love and kindness. As a homemaker, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family, creating a warm and nurturing environment that was always filled with love and great food. She was never too busy to stop and offer a kind word of support to anyone who may need it.
After her children were in school, she taught at the mother's day out program at church. Mrs. Rita, as she was known to so many who she taught in the program or at Sunday school, loved children and had many extended little ones who loved her. From the children at church to the children in the neighborhood, she loved making goodies and sharing with them.
Her love of flowers led her to work with her dear friend at her florist shop and wedding catering business. She loved helping people pick out flowers for their special occasion, talking with brides about their big day and ensuring all the little details were perfect for their wedding receptions.
Rita also found joy in simple pleasures such as gardening, working in her flowers, watching the birds and exploring new recipes in the kitchen. Her enjoyment of cooking brought loved ones together around the table where memories were made, and laughter was shared. Over the past few years, she developed a quick wit which was enjoyed by everyone she came in contact with.
She was the heart of her family and the glue that held everyone together through life's ups and downs. Her kind heart and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
